  • If, hypothetically, I could get over the inherent silly look of the five fingers, which model would you all recommend?  I've never run in something THAT minimal, but run in minimal-ish shoes - NB1400v2, GoRun2 + 3, Bare Access 2. I've got no idea wh…

  • I've got three shoes that I'm not wearing and that still have a lot of life left in them: 1) Skechers GoRun3 (blue on blue color way) - size 12.  They have about 50 miles on them, and are in great shape. I love these shoes, but would love them more …
  • If I chop off my toes I could maybe get these flippers of mine down to a size 10.  How good are the shoes? :-)
  • Well, I'll jump on the proverbial bandwagon.  I've got two pair - I'll  pay the (U.S.) shipping for a reasonable price. 1. Brooks Pure Drift in a size US 13 - 90 miles on them, and in very good shape - very little wear. Yellow and black.2. Nike Stru…
  • Thanks for the input, folks.  That's what I figured as well - too much too soon.  I have dialed it back to shorter runs in the Newtons, and they are feeling good.  Gotta build back into the long runs with them.

  • Anyone have any idea when these shoes are going to hit running stores?  I'm thinking that the Instinct would be a good shoe for me, but I'd rather support my local running store (the one who gives me pizza and beer after the weekly group run) than o…

  • Not to hijack the thread, but I have a question about the Go Run Rides.  I've got a size 12 in the Go Run3s that are just a shade too small - I REALLY wish they would make a 12.5.  That would be perfect, as the 13s are too big all around.  Anyone ha…
  • Agree - I'm tempted as well.  I like the increased flexibility, and the cushion might make it a good marathon shoe for me (a very middle-o-the-pack runner).  Also very intrigued by The One v.2, which I just learned tonight at a group run is called "…

  • Nice.  I wish I'd had the foresight to stash away a pair of the GS.
  • Are they any more flexible? The 1.5s that I had (and returned) felt like planks on my feet, especially compared to my beloved Go Run 2s. They were crazy comfortable as a casual shoe, though. If their new casual shoe were not leather, I'd be all o…

  • How's the cushioning?  I love my BA2s, and wear them casually literally every chance I get, but they are too firm for me to run much more than 5K or so without my feet feeling pounded upon.  I'd love to able to run these shoes for a half marathon or…

  • Yep - what SteveL said.  I've been doing all my running in 4mm drop for about 2+ years, and then bought a pair of 0 drop shoes (Brooks Pure Drift without the liner).  I ran a two days and then (stupidly) ran a half marathon in them.  Race went well,…
  • Without the insole, the GR3 is a 4mm drop.  It only goes up to 8mm with the insole in. I never even put in the insoles because I loved the GR2s, and I'm loving the 3s.
  • Just as an aside, I saw the Virratas at Marshall's last night for $40 (along with Evo Cursoris for $23 and Mizuno Be for $20). Nearly all Saucony shoes are too narrow for my flippers, but might be of interest to others...
  • Mmmmn... I love cobbler.  Peach, I think, is my favorite.  Blueberry a close second.  :-)
  • I'd second Pete's Skechers take.  I've got the Go Run 2s, and just got the 3s, but haven't run in them yet.  I preferred them to the Pure Flows, which I also have.  They seem to ride easier for me - smoother, maybe? I'm a bit bigger than you, though…
  • That's a tough one.  Bummer.  Better safe than sorry, I think (at least for others - I don't always follow that advice personally, much to the chagrin of my wife...). As far as 'alternative' types of therapies, I'd put in a solid plug for acupunctur…
  • Just posted this on another thread, but might be interesting for others as well.  I just ordered a pair of BA2s from 6pm.com for $40.  Seemed like they had a bunch of sizes, and had blue (my favorite), and two white versions at that price.  I like t…
  • Can't wait to get my hands on the GR3.  I've got 2 pair of the GR2's - 400 miles on one pair, and still going strong.  Just wore them this morning on my run.
  • I was just looking for a thread about the Bare Access 2 - I just ordered a pair for me from 6pm.com for $40 US.  I love these shoes - at least as much for casual wear as I love them for running.  Thinking about getting another pair to stockpile.   H…
