Solid soled alternative to the Free?

I really, really enjoy the new Flyknit 4.0--everything from the fit to the flexibility. Add to that the fact that the free line is one of the only ones that I've been able to log serious injury free miles in, and I end up wearing frees for virtually every run.

But about half the time I run, I run on a crushed gravel trail, and the frees simply pick up too much gravel, and it's finally getting to the point where I'm trying to find an alternative.

Does anyone have suggestions for a shoe which would feel somewhat similar without turning me into a gravel/stick/mud mass transit system?

  • Tough call, was going to say Skechers GoBionic 2 but they have grooves as well. Maybe the Asics Gel Lyte 33? Or if you can go zero drop the Altra The One2
